MAC Paint Pot in Groundwork Review and EOTD

Hey Everyone!

I adore MAC Paint Pots! They are one of my favorite products from MAC and one of the best cream eyeshadow/bases in the industry! I do own few of them and one of my favorite is Groundwork!

Initially when I started using MAC everyone raved about the most famous eyeshadow base MAC Paint Pot in Painterly! But having extremely dark eyelids and NC40-42 skin tone Painterly looked quite ashy and unnatural on me, thats when the SA recommended Groundwork for more neutral base.

Groundwork is described by MAC as mid tone taupe and I couldn't agree more! I love my neutrals and Taupe is one of my favorite color for office wear. Its highly underrated paint pot from MAC in my opinion and if you are medium to dark skin tone this is a must have in your kitty!

The shade is gorgeous creamy taupe with almost a matte finish! It does have a nice subtle sheen to it so it does not look completely flat! This makes it perfect for everyday or office wear since it gives a light wash of color and overall a polished sophisticated look!

If you have dark eyelids like me this will be a boon since it covers the pigmentation quite well. As with all MAC paint pots the staying power is amazing and stays well beyond 8 to 9 hours on me without fading or creasing! You can even use it as an eyeshadow base for different looks from neutrals to smokey eyes! A true  versatile product!

I usually apply it using my fingers, this way it warms up the product and applies really well. You could use a flat synthetic brush to apply it as well. I have been using it since more than a year now and its going pretty strong and haven't had issues with drying yet!

You can see how subtle and pretty it looks! I highly recommended this paint pot to everyone!

Round-Up

Pros:-
-> Pretty neutral taupe color
-> Texture is creamy and easy to blend
-> Lasts all day
-> Will suit all skin tones!
-> Does not fade of crease
-> Can be used as eyeshadow base for neutral as well as smokey eye looks!
-> Can be used in the crease to blend out bright colors
-> Gives polished and sophisticated look
-> Can be used as eyeshadow on it own!
-> Perfect for office wear or everyday wear
-> Will last a long time
-> Its permanent from MAC so will be available across all MAC counters

Cons:-
-> Can be expensive

Price:- I paid 1100 INR but now I believe MAC may have increased the prices!

I hope the review was helpful, until next time take care and stay beautiful!

Love,

  1. This is definitely one of the most raved about paintpots from MAC. Loved it on your eyes. :D I have Nubile and somehow never really used it much. Have started using it regularly now and I can really see the difference they make to the eye makeup. :)
