Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3 Review and Photos

Hey Everyone!

I will be reviewing today Clinique Clarifying Lotion 3 which is part of Clinique's 3 Step Skin Care routine and retails for 1400 for 200 ml

I had heard so much about this product that finally I decided to go ahead and give it a try. I got my skin analyzed by the Clinique doctors when I was in KL and they suggested me to try their Clarifying Lotion 3 and Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel as known as DDMG. After trying couple of samples I went ahead and got full size for both of them, so if you want to know my thoughts on them do keep on reading.

Clarifying Lotion comes in a pink frosted glass bottle which definitely is not travel friendly. I find it a bit too bulky to carry around. Also the mouth of the bottle is too big and it dispenses a lot of product. I wish it would come with a spray or a smaller mouth.

The clarifying lotion is clear liquid and has a very high content of alcohol. When I started using it for the first time way back in June it dried out my skin way too much. I literally had dry flakes all over my face, I got pretty scared and immediately went and consulted the clinique counter. The SA mentioned that its working and getting rid of all the dead skin cells. Hesitantly I kept on using the lotion and after couple of days my skin stopped flaking and returned to its normal state.

The way I use it to take a cotton pad and dab some lotion on it and swipe it across my skin only once, do not go over and over again the same skin since that will cause it to dry out even further. The lotion has salicylic acid which is very good for acne, pimples, black heads, whiteheads and zits and works effectively in keeping them at bay. Since it has very high level of alcohol it does sting a bit on the skin but the sensation subsides after a while.I use the lotion after washing my face and many times I still can see dirt and makeup coming out, the lotion works very well in removing all impurities from the skin and preparing it for serum and moisturizer.

The lotion really does work in keeping acne and pimples at bay, I have been using this lotion since last 2 months and touch wood I have not got a single pimple since then, though I do get small zits and whiteheads but nothing too major. My skin has been fairly clear since I started using it. It also helps in improving the skin texture, i haven't seen anything major but skin feels smooth and clear. I do have quite big pores in the inner parts of my cheeks and to be honest I have not noticed any major reduction in them but I am hoping with continuous usage I will see better results.

The only problem I have with this toner is the the smell, the alcohol smell is way too strong for me and I hope clinique does change the formula to atleast reduce the level of alcohol used. Apart from them I definitely love the lotion and will recommend to everyone who is battling from oily skin problems.

Round - Up

Pros:-
-> Contains salicylic acid
-> Helps in preventing acne, pimples and zits
-> Helps in making skin clear
-> Works on pores
-> Removes all dirt and impurities from the skin
-> Helps in improving texture of skin
-> Will last 5 to 6 months easily
-> Helps to keep skin shine and oil free

Cons:-
-> Too much alcohol
-> Too strong smell
-> Stings a bit

Rating:- 4.5 out of 5

If you are ok with using alcohol based toner for your skin and if you are battling with oily skin problems I will definitely recommend this toner, it definitely does work in fighting pimples and acne and to keep the skin clear.

I hope the review was helpful to you all, until next time take care and stay beautiful

Love,
