Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation 857 Golden Tan Review, Swatches and FOTD

Hey Everyone!

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation 857

So today I'll be reviewing a foundation which you have seen me wearing in a lot of my FOTD's and its none other than Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-n-1 Foundation in the shade 857 Golden Tan. I already have done a 1st Impressions post on this one which you can find here

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-n-1 Foundation is described as "All-day flawless coverage. Lasting power of a primer, coverage of a concealer and blendability of a foundation in one. Shine free" Lets find out if the claims are true..shall we?
After using it for more than 3 months now I think I am pretty ready to do a detailed review on it. I have never been a foundation junkee mainly coz I have massive yellow undertones and I can never find a drugstore foundation which will match my skin tone until recently when many drugstore brands have started to come out with yellow under toned products which is great!

One of the best part about this foundation is that it comes in a huge shade range of 11 shades which is good for a drugstore foundation. Also many shades have yellow/golden/olive undertones so everyone will find their match! It also comes with a pump which can be locked which is a huge plus and makes it travel friendly as well.

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation NC40-42

I have the shade 857 Golden Tan is a bang on match for my NC40-42 skin tone! It blends beautifully and settles to a satin matte finish. The coverage I would say is medium, it does cover the redness and spots pretty well but if you have deep rooted acne scars and pigmentation unfortunately it will not cover them completely. It does not feel heavy on the skin or makes you feel like wearing a mask. I don't find this as buildable atleast not on my skin, if I try to build or go on with a second layer sometimes it starts to turn cakey but it does build nicely if used a primer beneath.

One of the downsides of this foundation is that it does settles into pores and dry skin especially around my nose. so exfoliation is a must before using this foundation. Also it does cling to dry patches so one definitely needs to moisturize well. I have found that when I use a primer underneath this foundation it works well and does not settle into pores or fine lines, currently I use my Inglot Primer and it works really well with this foundation. With primer underneath the foundation also goes on smooth and blends beautifully.

The staying power is very good and it stays put through 8-10 hours with very little shine coming through after 4 hours which is fine with me. I usually blot my face couple of times in a day with a tissue. It does not make me extremely oily or shiny and I feel it will work extremely well for oily skin. It could work for combination skin as well with a good moisturizer under neath but dry skinned beauties stay away from this!

The only disadvantage for me is that this foundation oxidizes on me ever so slightly. It does not make me look orange or extremely dark but it does turn like half a shade darker on me. Again this varies from skin to skin and it may or may not oxidize on you.

I have used this foundation herehere and here as well.

Final Thoughts
Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-N-1 Foundation in
857 Golden Tan

Pros:-

-> Excellent travel friendly packaging
-> Comes with a locking pump
-> Blends nicely
-> Medium coverage
-> Good shade range
-> Settles to satin matte finish
-> Feels light weight on the skin
-> Fantastic staying power
-> Fantastic for a drugstore price range!
-> Keeps oil and shine at bay for 4+ hours
-> Does not get patchy at the end of the say
-> Did not clog pores or break me out
-> Looks natural and not like wearing a mask

Cons:-

-> Does settle into pores and exaggerates dry patches if used without a primer
-> Oxidizes ever so slightly
-> Not available in India

Rating:- 4 out of 5

Price:- 8 to 10$ depending from where you buy

I really do like this foundation for the light weight finish and the shade range! Only that next time I would probably go a shade lighter since it oxidizes on me but nevertheless a fantastic foundation and I would definitely recommend it to all oily skinned beauties. Dry skin stay away and for combination skin use a good moisturizer beneath.

I hope the review was helpful, until next time do take care and stay beautiful!

Love,
